Saige-10 months
I’ve been photographing Saige since she was just a sleepy little baby at only days old . Now she is full of life and expression. She can stand with assistance and a few seconds without. She can go from happy to sad to happy again quickly. Saige is a joy to be around and turned 10 months old yesterday.
Sydney-3
My God-daughter has turned THREE years old. It is truly hard to believe. She is growing to be such a beautiful little girl. She gave me plenty of smiles and coming from a girl who has never been a fan of the camera, was amazing! Though when she is done, she is done, the photo of the back of her showing her hair braid was her being done. Funny girl! Happy 3rd Birthday Syd!
Minnesotan Beholder
It was a great accomplish to get the e-mail that read, “Congratulations! This message is to inform you that your piece titled Minnesotan Beholder entered in Class 8-photography was accepted into the 2011 Fine Arts Exhibition.” Only 125 photographs were accepted out of 796! My husband and I brought the kids to the State fair and my daughter, who is nearly 5 and the subject of the photograph says, “LOOK MOM! THERE’S MY BIG EYE!”
It was even more exciting to learn that the photo sold for $277 and is being shipped to New York! It is amazing to to know someone enjoyed it enough to make it their own. Huzzah for success!
Today, I was on cloud nine when I read this from the New York fan, “I was riveted when I saw your photograph! The picture was amazing and appealed to my fascination for form, texture and depth. It really made my mind race to try to figure out just how you captured it. I recently bought my first DSLR camera and so seeing your photograph at the fair was further inspiration for me to go out and use it.”
The ability to inspire others is what being a photographer is all about!
This whole experience was a wonderful one and I can’t wait to try again for the 2012 Great Minnesota Get-together, the 12 days of FUN!
4 Grandchildren
We had given some fundraising certificates to Agape Christian Preschool and one of the certificates was one by Addy’s Grandma. She chose to use it for her week in Spicer at the resort with the four grandchildren. Brothers Mack (14) and Alex (12) with their cousins, the girl sisters, Peyton(7) and Addy(4). These four were so well-behaved, they never fussed, seemed to have fun and were great to photograph!
Mason-cake smash
Our little boy is one year old, I can hardly believe it. It is true that time flies even faster with the second child. He is a happy guy, loves his food, says Mum and Dada, and is so very close to walking. He will take that one step and crab on, or stand unassisted for minutes, but is not confident enough to keep stepping forward. We love this little guy, Happy 1st birthday Mason!
